About Dominic

The Photographer

Born and raised in Saguenay, Dominic Dallaire spent his youth at Cap Bon Désir, observing the whales in the Saint-Lawrence river and dreaming of being able to swim with them. In 2014, his dream comes true when he swims for the first time with the majestic blue whales of Sri Lanka. Putting his talents as a photographer to good use, he captures through his lens the privileged moments he spends with these beloved giants of the seas around the world. Through his photos, he wishes to raise awareness of the importance of protecting marine mammals and their habitat around the globe.

The Captain

Native from Rivière-du-Loup, Marie-Pier is a mermaid at heart who experiences little greater joy than the one felt when she finds herself in direct communion with nature. And the sea repays her well in return! Faithful captain of Dominic, she accompanies him wherever his passion and his camera take him around the globe. Through this exercise, she wishes to make more accessible people's connection with the inhabitants of the sea, and thus raise public awareness of the protection of these majestic beings and their rich habitat.
